Lola Young sparks concern collapsing on stage mid-concert hours after manager stopped her from performing at show

POP star Lola Young sparked concern after she collapsed during a gig in New York.

The worrying incident happened just hours after Lola’s manager issued a statement in which he said he had stopped her performing at Audacy’s We Can Survive concert on Friday night due to a “sensitive matter”.

The 24-year-old made her stage return yesterday and told the audience: “I wanted to say I had a couple of tricky days. Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue.”

But not long after addressing her absence from Friday’s show, she fell to the floor as crew rushed to her aid.

Within an hour of her collapse, Lola took to Instagram and said: “Hi, for anyone who saw my set at All Things Go today, I am doing OK now.

“Thank you for all of your support, Lola xxx.”

Manager Nick Shymansky shared a candid update with fans on Friday about Lola’s wellbeing.

He wrote: “Lola is very open about her mental health and there are very occasionally days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe.

“She is an incredible person and always takes her fans, career and performances seriously. I can only send huge apologies for the inconvenience caused.”

Lola has had a meteoric rise to fame thanks to the mega success of her single Messy.

It’s made her one of the most in demand young pop acts in the world, but she’s had a number of performance issues.

Last month she was forced to pull out of Reading and Leeds Festivals at short notice due to a scheduling conflict.

Two months before, she was reduced to tears after performing at Capital’s Summertime Ball due to technical difficulties.

She bravely battled in-ear monitor (IEM) issues which significantly impacts an artist’s ability to hear themselves.

Lola said on stage: “Sorry guys my ears are going in and out. Can I get some new ears?”

Trying to continue without it the IEM, she asked the crowd to: “Sing along please.”

But the problem persisted and struggled to keep in time with the music and her band, exclaiming: “It’s like they’re doing it on purpose.”

And at Coachella, Lola vomited in front of the audience due to the intense California heat.
