Vikings outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel, who has been sidelined with concussion after the season opener against the Bears, did not appear to be using a red no-contact jersey at practice Thursday, as he had Wednesday.
He was still listed as a limited participant in practice, but he seems to be advancing through the stages of the NFL’s concussion protocol.
Five other players were also limited for the second straight day: safety Theo Jackson (hip), linebacker Austin Keys (groin), tight end Josh Oliver (ankle) and safety Harrison Smith (illness).
Outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard (oblique) was back to a full day of practice after being limited Wednesday. Cornerback Jeff Okudah, who is also in the concussion protocol, was a full participant for the second straight day.
Left tackle Christian Darrisaw (knee) had a planned rest day Thursday after a full day of practice Wednesday. He is expected to fully participate Friday as he works toward his 2025 season debut.
Quarterback J.J. McCarthy (ankle), center Ryan Kelly (concussion) and left tackle Justin Skule (concussion) were again not at practice. McCarthy has already been ruled out for the week.
