A Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Sadiq Saleh Osude, has been appointed as Special Envoy for Investment by the County Government of Nyandarua in Kenya. The two-year appointment assigns him the responsibility of drawing strategic investments into the East African country, with a particular focus on forging ties with investors from the Middle East.
The appointment was sealed during the recently held Soft Conference in Dubai, a global investment forum convened by Gaf Africa and Eki Co-Net. Ambassador Osude, who attended as a Special Guest, held discussions with Nyandarua Governor, Hon. Moses Kiarie Badilisha, on areas of cooperation before the formal signing of the letter of appointment by the Governor.
Governor Badilisha explained that the decision to bring Osude on board was part of a broader plan to position Nyandarua as an attractive investment hub in Kenya. “We are opening our doors to credible international partners who share our vision for growth. Mr. Osude has shown commitment to development and has the network to connect us with investors, particularly from the Middle East,” the Governor said.
Mr. Osude’s role will focus on identifying genuine investment opportunities and facilitating partnerships across key sectors including infrastructure, agriculture, real estate, manufacturing, and tourism. He expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him, saying the assignment would further strengthen intra-African collaboration.
“I consider this not only a personal honor but also a call to duty,” Osude remarked. “Africa has immense potential, and partnerships like this are how we unlock it. I am determined to bring investors who will contribute meaningfully to Nyandarua’s economy and create opportunities for the people.”
Osude, a native of Nasarawa State, has long been known for his entrepreneurial ventures and philanthropy in Nigeria. Through his non-profit, the SOS Foundation, he has provided boreholes to rural communities, funded vocational training for youths, and awarded educational scholarships to underprivileged students. These initiatives have earned him recognition as a social entrepreneur committed to grassroots development.
Speaking on his broader vision, Osude added, “My philosophy has always been about service. What we are doing here in Kenya is in line with what I have always stood for, using partnerships to improve lives. Development must be people-centered, whether in Nigeria or Kenya.”
His rising profile in philanthropy and business has also translated into politics. Earlier this year, he declared his intention to run for the governorship of Nasarawa State in the 2027 elections under the campaign slogan “Service Today, Progress Tomorrow.” He has repeatedly linked his humanitarian track record with his aspiration to deliver impactful governance.
“This engagement in Nyandarua is a demonstration of the type of international cooperation I want to bring to Nasarawa State. I believe in practical leadership, leadership that brings results people can see and feel,” Osude stated.
