Man City face Rodri injury wait with four players to miss Monaco Champions League tie

Manchester City must wait on the fitness of Rodri after the midfielder missed the weekend win over Burnley. The Blues claimed a 5-1 Premier League success over Scott Parker’s side at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon to continue their recent momentum. They will hope to make it three wins in a week when they travel to Monaco in the Champions League on Wednesday night. City will definitely be without four players and are sweating on the availability of Rodri. Here’s the latest from the Etihad treatment room. Injury: Knee The Spaniard sat out the win over Burnley with City saying he was not fully fit. There is a hope he can recover in time to play in France on Wednesday. After the game against the Clarets, Pep Guardiola said: “I don’t know right now how the pain is in his knee. He said to us that he was not ready to play.” Potential return date: Monaco (A), October 1 Injury: Unknown The Uzebekistan international has made the right back spot his own in the past few weeks with three successive starts in that position. But he was forced off injured at half time in the draw with Arsenal and is unlikely to return before the international break. Potential return date: Everton (H), October 18 Injury: Knee Marmoush suffered an injury in the fourth minute of Egypt’s goalless draw with Burkina Faso earlier this month. He tried to carry on but was withdrawn five minutes later. He returned to Cairo on crutches and underwent a scan in Egypt to assess the extent of the damage. City have since confirmed the 26-year-old will be out for a few weeks and while they were hopeful he could return prior to the international break, it is understood he is targeting the Everton game when the Premier League returns from a two-week hiatus. Potential return date: Everton (H), October 18 Injury: Thigh The France international is sidelined for two months after picking up a thigh injury. There is hope in France that the former Lyon midfielder could return before the international break. Although Cherki has a slight chance of proving his fitness for the trip to Brentford a week on Sunday, the view within City remains that the clash with the Toffees two weeks later is his more likely return date. Potential return date: Everton (H), October 18 Injury: Ankle Ait-Nouri suffered an ankle injury in the early stages of his home debut against Tottenham, The £31million summer signing from Wolves played against Brighton but did not join up with the Algeria squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Botswana and Guinea earlier this month. The Algerian is not expected to return to training until the end of the October international break at the earliest. That could potentially put him in the frame to face Everton as he aims for a return to action next month. Potential return date: Everton (H), October 18
