WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins are set to collide in Perth, Western Australia, on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Crown Jewel: Perth is scheduled to determine this year’s Crown Jewel Champions of the men’s and women’s divisions of RAW and SmackDown. In 2024, Rhodes and Liv Morgan reigned supreme over their respective opponents in one-on-one bouts, besting the likes of Gunther and Nia Jax to become the inaugural Crown Jewel Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Rhodes and Rollins are scheduled to determine this year’s men’s Crown Jewel Champion. Meanwhile, Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer and WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton are set to compete to determine the ultimate female champion on the company’s main roster.
When it comes to the impending battle between The Visionary and The American Nightmare, there’s a case to be made that the leader of The Vision should walk away as the victor. Without further ado, let’s look at five reasons why Seth should defeat Cody in Western Australia in two weeks.
#5. Drew McIntyre Interferes and Continues His Feud With Cody Rhodes
On the most recent episode of SmackDown, McIntyre cut a promo about being upset and dissatisfied with his loss to Rhodes at Wrestlepalooza, blaming the referee for getting in his way and seemingly conspiring against him in favor of The American Nightmare. As we inch ever closer to Crown Jewel: Perth, it’s clear that The Scottish Warrior is bothered by Rhodes’ pinfall victory over him. His sour attitude and violent inclinations could potentially play a major role in the outcome of Rollins vs. Rollins in October.
By costing Rhodes his match with Rollins in Perth, Drew McIntyre would prolong his feud with The American Nightmare and likely lead to Rhodes granting him another shot at the WWE Championship. A dirty victory for Rhodes with McIntyre’s assistance would provide greater motivation and added drama to a future clash between Cody and Drew.
#4. Cody Rhodes Is Undefeated Against Rollins
The American Nightmare’s first opponent when he returned to WWE was none other than Seth “Freakin” Rollins. During their 2022 rivalry, Rhodes won every match, starting with his win at WrestleMania 38 and ending inside Hell in a Cell. Before their third match that year, Rhodes sustained a torn pectoral tendon, and he still managed to defeat Rollins at WWE’s final Hell in a Cell premium live event.
Rhodes demonstrated superiority over Rollins a shade over three years ago. The American Nightmare has nothing to prove by defeating him again. On the flip side, The Visionary can prove that he’s at the top of his game by beating the Undisputed WWE Champion and finally scoring the pinfall on a wrestler who had his number three years prior.
#3. The World Heavyweight Championship Could Use a Boost In Prestige
When compared to the title currently held by Rhodes, the World Heavyweight Championship appears second-rate, at best. The Undisputed WWE Championship has a lineage that dates back to 1963, whereas the most recent iteration of the Big Gold Belt debuted in 2023. Wrestlers such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, and Bruno Sammartino are only a handful of the legends who won WWE’s most prestigious championship.
Since its reintroduction to WWE earlier this decade, the World Heavyweight Championship hasn’t been featured in any WrestleMania main events, exclusively being used in opening matches for The Show of Shows. Two years in a row, the World Heavyweight Title was on the line in the opener for the second night of WrestleMania. WWE showcased the previous version of the World Heavyweight Championship (2002-2013) in a much more prestigious light, particularly during its earlier years, featuring it in the main event of WrestleMania XX, 21, and 24.
WWE could add to the prestige of Rollins’ current reign as well as his title overall by having him defeat the Undisputed Champion. By besting The American Nightmare in a one-on-one contest and winning the Crown Jewel championship ring, The Visionary can assert the claim that the World Heavyweight Champion is superior to the Undisputed WWE Champion. Whether that claim is true or not would be up for debate, but it’d be clear to see that a win of that caliber would benefit both Rollins and his World Heavyweight Championship.
#2. The Numbers Are On the Side Of Seth Rollins
As the leader of The Vision, Rollins is flanked by his goons, Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker, and “The Oracle” Paul Heyman. There’s also a bitter McIntyre lurking not far behind as we draw closer and closer to Crown Jewel: Perth.
On the most recent episode of Monday Night RAW, The American Nightmare brought up how Rollins didn’t need backup during their series of matches in 2022, asking if he’ll do the same when they collide in Australia in October. However, considering his heelish persona and the fact that the numbers appear to be on his side, Rollins seems like the favorite going into their match. A dirty finish appears likely when it comes to Seth vs. Cody in Perth, either at the hands of The Vision or by the wrath of a vengeful Scotsman.
#1. Increase the Power Of The Vision
The Crown Jewel championship ring is yet another symbol of prestige and power on WWE’s main roster. The Vision would look even more powerful if Rollins vanquished the heroic Rhodes and captured the 2025 men’s Crown Jewel Championship. A win over Rhodes could also undermine The American Nightmare’s claim of being the true Undisputed Champion of WWE, considering that another active World Champion in World Wrestling Entertainment would have bested him in a battle between top titleholders.
A win over the likes of Rhodes would make the Rollins-led faction look even more powerful as 2025 draws closer to an end. This victory will add much-needed momentum to the World Heavyweight Champion and his faction as The Vision looks to maintain dominance into 2026 and beyond.
