British singer Lola Young collapsed on stage today while in the midst of performing during the All Things Go Music Festival in New York City.
Young, 24, was in the midst of singing her song, “Conceited” when she collapsed. She was then carried off-stage by a medical team, People reported.
Singer/songwriter Remi Wolf addressed the crowd later, letting them know Young was alright.
“That was really [expletive] scary.” Wolf said, “My friend Lola is backstage, and she is okay.”
The incident happened a day after Young’s performance on Friday was canceled by her team “due to a sensitive matter.”
“Lola is very open about her mental health and there are very occasionally days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe,” manager Nick Shymansky wrote about the cancelation, per Billboard. “She is an incredible person and always takes her fans, career and performances seriously. I can only send huge apologies for the inconvenience caused.”
Earlier during her set on Saturday, Young said she had “a tricky couple of days.”
“Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue,” she said. “But you know what, today I woke up and I made the decision to come here, and I wanted to be cool … and sometimes life can throw you lemons, and you just gotta make lemonade.”
Young is best known for her hit “Messy.” Her newest album, “I’m Only [Expletive] Myself,” was released on Sept. 19.
