FUFA Playoffs | Fixture | Game Two
UCU Canons vs Nam Blazers (0-1) – 9pm
Sommet BC vs City Oilers (1-0) – 9pm
Sommet Basketball Club and City Oilers will face up in game two of the best-of-five semifinal series at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.
Sommet came into this playoff encounter after taking game one 86-74 in a highly paced thriller.
Speaking to the media, Albert Aciko revealed that they have to improve on their defence if they are to beat City Oilers again.
“We had an excellent performance against City Oilers. Though we had lapses in our transition defence,” he said.
“That is where we let City Oilers have easy points so we have been working towards correcting that so that we can make some stops and hardly serve them easy baskets,” he added.
Peter Cheng (18 points, 15 rebounds), Fataki Nyembo (18 points) and Mark Ngobi (17 points) led Sommet’s scoring chart in double digits.
The gaffer underlined that its important to have players scoring in double digits because it helps the whole team to sync with the positive energy.
“We must have our players scoring in double figures it makes it easy for the rest of the players to execute because we have insisted in sharing the ball and playing as a team all the time.”
On the other hand, City Oilers seek to even the series so that their dream of lifting the 11th straight NBL title is kept alive.
