Roundabout proposed for SR 83, Riegelsberger Road intersection in Avon: Short Takes on Avon, Avon Lake and North Ridgeville
Avon, Ohio
Add the intersection of State Route 83 (Center Road) and Riegelsberger Road to the growing list of proposed roundabouts in the area.
Avon City Council recently introduced an ordinance to construct a three-legged roundabout in an effort to improve safety and traffic congestion at the intersection.
A traffic light was initially proposed for the “T” intersection, but it was later determined a roundabout would be best to improve travel conditions along the Center Road corridor.
Estimated cost for the project is $2.9 million. The project may be eligible for partial funding with Issue One (1) Funds from the State of Ohio, Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) to partially offset any local funding obligations of the City of Avon, which is noted in the ordinance.
A construction timetable for the project is not available at this time. Stay tuned to Short Takes.
