Strictly Come Dancing fans have spotted a glaring editing mistake within seconds of tonight’s programme beginning. The BBC dance competition made its return featuring 15 famous faces on the dancefloor, including Amber Davies , who stepped in to replace fellow Love Island champion Dani Dyer only days earlier. Dani was compelled to pull out after fracturing her ankle, leaving Amber to take her spot alongside partner Nikita Kuzmin. Yet as the launch programme went to air this evening, audiences observed that the opening credits still featured Dani rather than Amber, with Dani and Nikita being presented amongst the other famous contestants. “Okay so they didn’t have time to put amber in the titles yet,” one viewer said, reports Essex Live . Another wrote: “Dani Dyer still on the opening credits and no Amber Davies…slightly awkward.” “Dani dyer in the titles still,” someone else said. Another added: “Could have taken Dani off the titles!” Other supporters rallied behind Dani, with one writing: “Gutted for Dani, hope she comes back next year.” “Sending you so much love Dani,” another said. Last week it emerged that Love Island champion Dani would be unable to take part in the 2025 series following an injury. The mother-of-three explained to supporters: “I had a fall in rehearsals and landed funny. “I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle. “Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable (! ! ) and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance so l’ve had to pull out of the show. “To say I’m heartbroken is the biggest understatement. I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on.” After learning of her withdrawal, her previous dance partner Nikita expressed: “So so gutted to have finished our journey before it even properly started.” He added: “The amount of laughs and fun we had in this short time was unbelievable. “Really loved our partnership and hope that one day we can actually get to week one lol but, health is the most important thing.” Meanwhile, Amber described the whirlwind experience of joining the lineup, saying: “This has been the craziest 24 hours of my life.” Promising she would “give it my all”, she continued: “I’ve watched Strictly with my family since I was younger and to now be part of the show is a dream come true.” Dani was amongst those offering encouragement to her replacement, posting on Instagram: “Good luck babe you will be amazing.” Strictly Come Dancing is available to watch on BBC One and iPlayer.
