After Karisma Kapoor’s two children filed a please seeking share in the assets of their deceased father Sunjay Kapur, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, September 10, ordered Priya Kapur to list all movable and immovable assets of Sunjay. “Issue notice. Reply in two weeks, rejoinder in a week thereafter. Along with replies, Defendant 1 will file a list of all movable and immovable assets known to Defendant 1. Assets to be declared as of June 12,” Justice Jyoti Singh directed Sunjay’s third wife and the main defendant Priya. Further, the court also noted that Priya was reluctant to give a copy of the will to Karisma’s children. “I don’t know why you should not part with the copy of the will to the children. Of course there can be a non-disclosure agreement. We can constitute a confidentiality club as well. We do this in intellectual property matters routinely,” the judge said. The court will be hearing the matter again on October 9. The will, dated March 21, 2025, reportedly leaves everything to Priya. The children claim that Priya, along with two associates, Dinesh Agarwal and Nitin Sharma, kept the will hidden for more than seven weeks before finally showing it at a family meeting on July 30. They believe the will is fake and say Priya’s actions clearly show she wants to ‘usurp full control’ of the estate, leaving no share for Sunjay’s other legal heirs. The case has also named Priya’s young son, her mother Rani Kapur, and the will’s alleged executor, Shradha Suri Marwah, as defendants. In their plea, the children have asked the court to recognise them as rightful Class I heirs of Sunjay Kapur and grant them one-fifth share each of their father’s assets. They also want the court to freeze all of Sunjay’s personal assets until the dispute is settled.
