Gardaí and emergency services at scene of 'serious' collision in Cork

A Cork road has been shut as emergency services assist with a “serious” collision in the city.

Gardaí, alongside other members of the emergency services, are currently at the scene of a “serious road traffic collision” which took place in Cork City, at the junction of Albert Street and Albert Road, at around 6:25pm on Thursday evening.

Gardaí confirmed that Albert Street is closed between Albert Quay and the South Link Road and diversions are in place.

A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: “Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision at the junction of Albert Street and Albert Road in Cork city that occurred at approximately 6:25pm this evening, Thursday 18th September 2025.

“Albert Street is closed between Albert Quay and the South Link Road and diversions are in place.”
