Thangal warns against exploiting social equations for political gain

The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) district conference concluded here on Saturday evening with a White Guard rally and public meeting. Inaugurating the public meeting, IUML State president Syed Sadikali Shihab Thangal warned that Kerala was facing a grave situation where social equations were being exploited for political gain.

He stressed that majority and minority communities living in harmony should not be overshadowed by doubt. “This contradicts Kerala’s tradition,” he said.

“The United Democratic Front (UDF) has consistently upheld this principle, working for all people’s rights and sections. A peaceful environment is crucial for building a strong nation,” Mr. Thangal added.

The IUML leader said that the absence of a strong-willed leader is Kerala’s main issue today. “The government and leaders should not distance themselves from the people. For Kerala’s situation to change, the UDF must return to power,” he said.

IUML national general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty delivered the keynote address. Party district president Marakkar Marayamangalam presided over the function. General secretary T.A. Siddique welcomed the gathering.

IUML State general secretary P.M.A. Salam, Tamil Nadu State general secretary Aboobacker, and Muslim Youth League general secretary P.K. Firos were among those who spoke.
