Carl Froch brands Jake Paul a bully over Gervonta Davis Bout and ‘Sideshow Bob’ jibe

Jake Paul is once again facing criticism from another high-profile figure in boxing ahead of his upcoming exhibition with Gervonta Davis later this year.
The fight isn’t an official contest, but rather a showcase event, with the sizeable gap between the two fighters raising plenty of eyebrows. At the same time, Paul’s involvement has put a hold on other matchups within the division.

He’s also been blamed for holding up a potential heavyweight bout against Anthony Joshua. The Watford fighter is now looking at other options while waiting for things to settle down.
The most recent wave of backlash comes from a former champion who accused Paul of picking on someone much smaller than him, highlighting what many see as a mismatch between him and Davis.
Carl Froch calls Jake Paul a boxing ‘bully’
Carl Froch, never one to hold back his opinions on Jake Paul, has now weighed in on the Ohioan’s upcoming exhibition bout with ‘Tank’. The former WBC super middleweight champion didn’t mince words when discussing the matchup.
Froch, who has been linked to a return fight against UFC alum Darren Till, took particular issue with the weight difference between Paul and Davis. It wasn’t just the physical disparity that bothered him; Froch also questioned Paul’s boxing ability.
Taking aim at both his fighting style and presence in the sport, Froch even compared Paul to Sideshow Bob from The Simpsons during one of his YouTube rants.
“All I can say about Jake Paul fighting somebody half his size is, he’s a f—— bully,” Froch said on his YouTube channel. “It’s just wrong — I know he can’t fight.”
“…He’s gone from Krusty the Clown to Sideshow Bob,” continued Froch. “He’s getting worse, do you know what I mean? This is a guy who is just taking the p— out of the sport. And I don’t think this [fight with Davis] has gained much interest.”
Jake Paul called out for major MMA debut
Two years back, while in the middle of a divisive spell in pro boxing, Paul signed with the PFL to make his move into mixed martial arts.
Paul has yet to step inside the cage, but earlier this week, a legendary heavyweight offered him another path into combat sports.
