Looking for a pair of Brooks Running shoes? Start with these three award winners

When you’re new to the running community, you might not know which shoes to start with. That was me about a year ago, quickly realizing that the gym shoes I had weren’t actually going to get me far in my half-marathon training journey. That meant researching brands and specific models, lots of try ons and trial runs.
I’ve been everything from a Brooks Running girl to someone who swears by HOKA. It really depends on what you’re looking for out of your footwear – but if that’s a Brooks Running shoe, we have some great places to start.
Brooks Running has earned several awards in recent years, and their shoes are renowned for running, walking, marathons and a mix of everything. We suggest checking out these award winners to see if one of them fits your needs.
Glycerin GTS 22
This shoe made the list of Best Training Shoes for 2025 from Runner’s World thanks to its lightweight cushioning and GuideRails™ support system.

Ghost 17
Introduced earlier this year, the Ghost 17 quickly captured runners’ hearts. It also caught the attention of Women’s Health, who awarded it the title of Most Supportive New Running Shoe. Its stability, steadiness and Nitrogen-infused cushioning all played a part in its recognition.

Glycerin Max
Men’s Health gave this shoe an Editor’s Pick award after experiencing its signature DNA Tuned cushion. If you think your shoes are comfortable, you’ll be shocked to feel how much cozier a pair of these are.

Want more recommendations? Listen to the doctors
Are you looking for shoes to meet a certain diagnosis? Want to help overpronation or supination? I get it. I’m a plantar fasciitis girly through and through, so a shoe that meets me where I’m at is important.
Check out the Brooks Running solutions page. It’s filled with orthopedic- and podiatrist-recommend shoes for varying concerns.
Good luck on your new journey and enjoy the miles ahead in a pair of shoes perfect for you!
