The Forest Department has urged the public to be wary of AI-generated videos of Mysuru Dasara elephants running amok and allayed fears of such a possibility.

In a release, Deputy Conservator of Forests Prabhugoud, who is in charge of the Dasara elephants, said that they have noticed attempts to create such videos using AI technology to mislead the public.

“The Dasara festival is a matter of pride for Mysuru, and uploading such videos on social media to confuse people during the festival creates unnecessary panic,” he said.

Allaying fears, Mr. Prabhugoud said all elephants participating in the Naada Habba Dasara festival are experienced, and the Forest Department, Police Department, and District Administration have taken all precautionary measures to ensure public safety.

He sought cooperation from all sections of the society, including the media, for the smooth conduct of the festival.
