    One of Belfast's top rated restaurants announces closure after a decade in Belfast

    An East Belfast restaurant has thanked its staff and customers as it prepares to say goodbye and close its doors later this month after a decade in business. Oliver’s Restaurant on Upper Newtownards Road in Ballyhackamore has announced that Sunday, September 21, will be its last service as it thanks the local community, and those further afield, for their support over the years saying that now is the “perfect time to bow out”. It has said that it will be offering customers a complimentary drink from now until closing as a way of celebrating the restaurants journey over the past ten years. In a social media post, Oliver’s Restaurant said, “It’s time to say goodbye from all of us at Oliver’s Restaurant. “Sunday 21st Sept will be our last service. “We opened Oliver’s restaurant with HC Thomas Wightman and GM Ben Chin Fai Tsang. They set a very high standard, providing great service, ambience and food in this beautiful space. “We have had some incredible staff over the years, including Daniel Stojcic, now one of the UK’s top wine Sommeliers. “Thomas has stood out -he was our Roy Keane- he has been instrumental in Oliver’s success, always there to guide us; so it is only fitting that he’s back in the kitchen to help us close down. He will be in there working the pass with his menu on Friday 20th. “We are so proud of our neighbourhood restaurant, consistently sitting in the top 20 restaurants on trip advisor and consistent 5* reviews. “We feel now is the perfect time to bow out and let someone else guide this beautiful space for the next decade. “Our last service will be on Sunday, September 21st.
