Vande Bharat Express: There’s great news for those traveling from Bikaner to Delhi. On Thursday afternoon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off the Bikaner-Delhi Vande Bharat Express train from Banswara. This train is now a major gift for the people of Bikaner, as it will significantly reduce travel time. However, the inaugural journey was a special one, with only invited guests traveling. General passengers will be able to travel on this train from September 28th, and bookings have already begun.

According to Divisional Railway Manager Gaurav Govind, the train will stop at several important stations between Bikaner and Delhi, including Sridungargarh, Ratangarh, Churu, Loharu, and Mahendragarh. Its stop at Churu station will be for 5 minutes, while at all other stops it will stop for 2 minutes each. The inaugural ceremony was held on platform number 6 of Bikaner Railway Station, with Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal as the chief guest. A large number of school children and members of the public were present, filling the atmosphere with excitement.

Timings and Fares

The Bikaner-Delhi Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 22471) will depart Bikaner at 5:40 am and arrive at Delhi Cantt at 11:55 am, completing the journey in a total of 6 hours and 05 minutes. On the return journey, the train will depart Delhi at 4:45 pm and arrive in Bikaner at 11:25 pm. Currently, regular trains like the Bikaner-Delhi Express take 7 hours and 20 minutes or more to cover this distance.

However, in exchange for these amenities and a shorter travel time, Vande Bharat fares are higher than regular trains. Fares start at ₹1,125 in sleeper class, compared to around ₹305 in regular trains. This may be an expensive option for daily commuters, but it will prove to be a valuable option for business class travelers and those seeking faster travel.
