Here’s a list of the top places to explore while backpacking in and around the city with your friends and family. Alleppey Also known as Alappuzha, it is one of the best tourist places near Kochi. Situated around 80 km from Kochi, it is often referred to as “The Venice of the East” due to its canals and backwaters. Begin your trip by staying in one of the traditional Kettuvallam-style houseboats, which offer a comfortable stay while gliding through coconut palm-lined waterways.
