How football fans can watch UEFA Champions League for 'free' without Sky Sports

The UEFA Champions League is well underway after starting back in July and running through until May 2026. Plenty of teams have already faced off against each other, with the most recent victory seeing Manchester City defeating Napoli 2-0 and Liverpool taking victory over Athletico Madrid 3-2. With football matches streamed across so many different providers in 2025, it can be tricky to know what to sign up for when it comes to throwing the match on. BBC , ITV and Sky all have different rights when it comes to football broadcasting, but there’s another provider offering UEFA Champion’s League coverage that plenty of sports fans might already be subscribed to. Amazon Prime Video might be the home of award winning shows like Fallout, Rings of Power and Clarkson’s Farm, but it’s also offering coverage of the Champions League. That means if you already have an Amazon Prime subscription for speedy deliveries, you have full access to Prime Video’s Champion’s League coverage too. The coverage only includes one of the several midweek matches being played as part of the Champion’s League, with the next match set to be Galatasaray v Liverpool on September 30. It’s a reduced fixture coverage to the likes of Sky, but it does at least give fans a taste of the Champion’s League action without having to fork out for an additional monthly subscription. Even if football fans don’t already have an Amazon Prime membership , it’s considerably cheaper than the likes of Sky Sports. Prime Video starts from £5.99 per month – a whole £16 cheaper than the £22 per month Sky charges existing customers for Sports , or £35 for newcomers. There are some benefits to watching the Champions League on Prime Video, like the match catch-up feature that gives a quick rundown of key events if you tune into a match late. All broadcasts are also available to view on demand after they’ve finished, letting fans catch up in their own time. Best of all Amazon Prime actually has a 30-day free trial that football fans can take advantage of if they’ve not been a member before. Head over to the Prime website to get started. Outside of football, there are plenty of other shows and movies to enjoy on the Amazon Prime Video platform . Oscar winning Conclave recently dropped on there, with Twisters and The Idea of You also proving to be fan favourites. For those who prefer to watch the Champions League away from Amazon, they can find matches over at TNT Sports. EE includes the service as part of its EE TV package , which starts at £5 per month for the first six months.
