In a shocking incident in a small village in Uttar Pradesh, a man was filmed attacking the burning pyre of his deceased friend out of anger over an unpaid debt. This video has since gone viral on social media, stirring both horror and outrage among viewers.
The incident occurred during an evening funeral at a village crematorium. Footage shows flames rising high as the family mourns nearby, with the deceased’s wife and children standing close to the pyre. Suddenly, a man appeared wielding sticks and began striking the burning pyre, creating a chaotic scene.
According to reports, the deceased had borrowed Rs 50,000 from the man but passed away without repaying the loan. Reports indicate that the two men were childhood friends from the same village and worked together in farming. Two years ago, one had borrowed money from the other, promising to repay it after selling his crop.
However, the borrower’s sudden death due to illness left the loan unpaid, fuelling the lender’s anger. The man alleged that the deceased had deliberately withheld the money. Villagers said he had previously pressured his friend to repay the debt, but no one expected such a violent outburst during the funeral.
The viral video has sparked a heated debate on social media. One user commented, “This is Kaliyuga, even friendship has become a business.” Another added, “Anger is understandable, but attacking a funeral pyre? This is the height of savagery!”
