From Career Slump to Redemption: Bobby Deol’s Journey
Bobby Deol entered the Hindi film industry in the 1990s and quickly became a sought-after leading man with films like Barsaat and Gupt. However, the 2000s proved to be a challenging decade for him as one box office disappointment followed another. His attempted comeback with Race 3 (2018) worked commercially but did little for his critical reputation.
It wasn’t until his performances in Class of ’83 and Aashram that audiences began to take notice of his acting prowess again. But it was Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s blockbuster Animal that truly transformed his career trajectory. Bobby’s portrayal of Abrar, a menacing mute antagonist, received rave reviews from both fans and critics. Speaking about it, Bobby said, “Animal changed everything for me.” His now-iconic Jamal Kudu dance sequence with a glass also went viral, cementing his status as a fan favourite once again.
