Ayushmann Khurrana revealed why his upcoming movie, Thamma, is a “true blue Indian film”. During the horror-comedy’s trailer launch in Mumbai on September 26, the actor acknowledged the creative talents of Aditya Sarpotdar directorial from across the nation. He also revealed what Maddock production house truly stands for.
In a video posted on Instagram, Ayushmann Khurrana was heard praising the key contributors of the upcoming film, Thamma. During the press event, the actor revealed that these members of the creative team are a key part of Indian culture. According to him, the horror-comedy movie brings together people from different linguistic backgrounds.

Talking about the film that releases this Diwali, he said, “North aur South isliye kyunki Rashmika Telugu se hai, Kattappa sir Tamil se hai, Niren Bhatt Gujarat se hai, humare Arun co-writer hai woh Uttarakhand se hai, Suresh Mathew, co-writer hai woh Malayali hai. [North and South because Rashmika (Mandanna, lead actress) is from Telugu (film industry), Kattappa sir (Sathyaraj, supporting actor) is from Tamil, Niren Bhatt (writer) is from Gujarat, our co-writer Arun (Falara) is from Uttarakhand, co-writer Suresh Mathew is Malayali (from Kerala).]”
Ayushmann added, “So I think, ek pura sarvagunn sampan, bahut hi pyaari bhartiya film hai humari, [So I think our film is a complete masterpiece, a very lovely Indian film], rooted and cultured, and Maddock truly stands for this.”

Team Thamma.” Many social media users began mentioning that Rashmika Mandanna hails from Coorg, Karnataka, and not from Telugu. A person said, “Rashmika Telugu se nahi.. Kannada se hai.. Thamma Stars Rashmika Mandanna In The Lead
Thamma is the fifth instalment in Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, following films like Stree and Munjya. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, it is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 21, during Diwali. Khurrana plays the role of Alok, a man who turns into a vampire after being bitten.
The movie stars Rashmika Mandanna as Tadaka, Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Yakshasan, Paresh Rawal as Ram Bajaj Goyal, Faisal Malik as Police Inspector, Geeta Aggarwal as Alok’s mother and Rachit Singh in an untitled key role. Additionally, Varun Dhawan as Bhaskar / Bhediya will have a cameo appearance, while Malaika Arora and Nora Fatehi are believed to make a special appearance in a song.
