Terrorism: Private hospital ready to admit, treat Nnamdi Kanu – IPOB lawyer

The legal team of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has disclosed that a private hospital is ready to admit and treat the Biafra agitator in Abuja. Kanu’s Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, disclosed this while reacting to controversies surrounding the Biafra agitator’s proper medical attention. The Nigerian government had urged the court to reject the application to move Kanu to National hospital for medical attention. However, addressing journalists in Abuja yesterday, Ejimakor said: “Just two days ago, I wrote a letter. A private hospital has also expressed readiness to admit him here in Abuja. “For security reasons, I won’t mention the name of the private hospital. But if the government appears to have issues with taking him to the national hospital, we have given them an option of a private hospital also here in Abuja.” Asked if the application to transfer Kanu to the national hospital was rejected, Ejimakor said: “No, it’s pending. It hasn’t been rejected. It’s pending. “Depending on the admission of his report from the Nigerian Medical Association and the opinion of the Nigerian Medical Association. “And you know, if you were in court, the judge had ordered that the committee or panel to be considered by the Nigerian Medical Association shall have a member from the national hospital. So national hospital is still in play.” The IPOB leader is currently facing trial for terrorism before an Abuja Federal High Court. Recently, Kanu’s legal team had raised an alarm over his deteriorating health and the need to transfer him to the national hospital for treatment.
