5-Year-Old Beheaded In Front Of Mother In Madhya Pradesh, Accused Lynched By Locals

A minor boy was beheaded in front of his mother by an unidentified man in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar, NDTV reported. The incident happened on Friday, when the five-year-old boy, identified as Vikas, was present in his home with his mother.
The report quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the accused, identified as 25-year-old Mahesh, arrived on a two-wheeler and barged into the home, registered in the name of Kalu Singh.
He attacked Vikas with a sharp spade-like tool lying in the house, severing the child’s neck from his torso. The attacker then struck his shoulder, leaving the boy’s body mutilated, the report claimed.
The family had never seen the accused before, and he was reportedly mentally unstable.
The mother of the victim was meanwhile left in a state of shock.
The accused was caught by locals as he was trying to escape, and was severely thrashed before the police arrived. He died on the way to the hospital.
The exact cause of his death would be confirmed after a post-mortem, the report quoted the police as saying.
Investigations revealed that Mahesh was a resident of Jobat Bagdi in Alirajpur district.
His family told police he had been mentally unstable and missing from home for the past three to four days, per the report.
Just an hour before the gruesome killing, he had allegedly tried to steal goods from a shop nearby.
An inquiry into the case was underway.
In a separate case, locals in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur discovered the beheaded body of a woman in a field. Her head, found at a short distance from the torso, was partially buried in the soil.
The victim was identified as 60-year-old Kalawati Yadav, a resident of Bhui Dharpur village. A sickle was also recovered from the spot.
According to Uttara Devi, Kalawati’s daughter-in-law, Kalawati had left home around 2 pm on Thursday, saying she was going to consult a doctor near Mangru crossing. She later visited another doctor in Pipiganj but did not return home.
The family then began searching for her and was informed the next morning about her death.
One suspect was detained in the case.
