Courts Optical Pee Wee Football Competition kicks off today

The highly anticipated Courts Optical Pee Wee Football Competition kicks off today at the Ministry of Education (MOE) Ground on Carifesta Avenue, with the traditional March Pass scheduled for 10:00 hrs. The event marks the start of weeks of intense action among primary schools across Guyana, all vying for top honours in what has become the premier grassroots football tournament in the country.

Defending champions Santa Rosa Primary return to defend their crown after last year’s memorable triumph. Their campaign begins immediately in Round One with two scheduled fixtures, including a high-profile clash against Goed Fortune Primary at 12:00 hrs and another against North Georgetown at 15:00 hrs. Their title defense will be closely monitored, with rival schools determined to dethrone them.

The opening round promises plenty of excitement with a packed slate of 14 matches spread across the day. Among the headline encounters are Marian Academy’s clash with GIA at 13:00 hrs and St Pius facing Agatash at 12:00 hrs. Charity Primary will also test their strength against Friendship Primary, while West Ruimveldt look to make an early statement against St Aloysius Primary.
