AWKA – Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 8th Anambra governorship election Evange-list Nicholas Ukachukwu has described government-owned hospitals in Anambra State as glorified mortuaries.
Ukachukwu who made the description during the inaugu-ration of his campaign council at the APC party secretariat in Awka, observed that govern-ment-owned hospitals under the present administration operated with very obsolete and moribund facilities leading to poor health-care services to the people.
He however assured Ndi-Anambra that if elected into office as governor of the state, his administration will enhance from primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare and that his govern-ment will synergize all of them so they can function effectively and offer comprehensive healthcare services to the citizens, stressing that 50% of the state internally generated revenue is enough to revamp as well as reinvigorate the state health sector, amongst numerous other laudable plans he has for Anambra.
