A new Shell gas station in the south is officially open for business. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the new Shell in Yona on Thursday. The community gathered to celebrate the occasion and to bless the new site.
IP&E and CPL CEO Jim Beighley says this marks the 16th Shell location on Guam, adding, “This is an initiative from years ago in wanting to expand the footprint and expand our operations, but doing so in a low-impact, environmentally friendly way. So we engineered these modular stations that are able to be constructed in a short period of time and with a low environmental impact, and I think it’s a great thing for the business and for the community, so we’re very excited about this.”
Ricky altonaga, IP&E senior director of operations, marketing and loyalty, says it’s more than a place to fill up your tank or grab a snack. “We are proud to say Shell stations are destinations, and we are building today for the Yona community. We want to give our brothers and sisters in Yona a choice, and we want Shell to be convenient for you to make these choices. We are partners of everyone’s daily journeys.
“Whether you are going to work, bringing kids to school just down the street to MU Lujan, tourists, or just transiting, we are here to offer Shell’s best products and services.”
In the meantime, Shell is having an exclusive promotion in Yona– double Pacific Points for all customers for all fuel and C-Store transactions until September 30.
