Who is Devon Pritchard? The longtime executive succeeding Doug Bowser at Nintendo of America

Nintendo announced that Doug Bowser, current president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America, will retire on December 31, 2025. He will be succeeded by Devon Pritchard, a 19-year veteran of the video game industry and longtime member of Nintendo of America’s leadership team.Alongside the leadership change, Satoru Shibata will join Nintendo of America as chief executive officer while continuing his roles as managing executive officer and corporate director at Nintendo Co., Ltd. (NCL). Pritchard will also join the Nintendo of America Board of Directors and become an NCL executive officer. In its press release, Nintendo highlighted that Pritchard values the company’s fans and plans to expand experiences that connect consumers with Nintendo’s games, brand, and retail presence.“I am humbled and excited to take on this new role,” said Pritchard in the release. “Doug has been a fantastic mentor, and I look forward to building on the incredible foundation he has helped establish. With characters and worlds that offer something for everyone, my focus will be continuing to build on Nintendo’s legacy of surprising and delighting our longtime fans, while at the same time welcoming new players into the Nintendo family.”She also congratulated Doug Bowser for his carrer. She joined Nintendo in 2006 and has spent nearly two decades in senior leadership roles, overseeing sales, marketing, and revenue operations. Beyond Nintendo, Pritchard has also been a board member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue since 2014.She holds a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from Gonzaga University School of Law (1998–2001) and earned her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Kansas State University (1994–1998), where she was also a member of the university’s volleyball team.
