Where you might see the Red Arrows in Cambridgeshire today

Those living in Peterborough, Kimbolton and Papworth Everard may be able to catch a glimpse of the world-famous Red Arrows this morning (Wednesday, September 10). The aerobatic display team is expected to fly over Cambridgeshire from RAF Waddington, as pilots make their way to a planned performance at the Guernsey Air Display.

The Red Arrows will be leaving the RAF base at 9.36am and will start travelling south towards Wisbech. Those living in Peterborough should head outside for 9.40am for a chance to spot the jets, as they are expected to fly directly above the city between 9.42am and 9.47am.

They are expected to head over Kimbolton towards Little Staughton at 9.49am. The team will then head over Papworth Everard and reach Boxworth at 9.51am.

Heading south, the Red Arrows should pass over Bassingbourn and Therfield, before flying over London towards the coast. If all goes according to plan, the jets will reach Guernsey at 10.23am.

Weather conditions and other factors could lead the timings and route to change at the last minute. The Red Arrows began displaying in 1965, and had flown nearly 5,000 displays across 57 countries by the start of 2024.

The team flies Hawk fast-jets, and can frequently be spotted in its trademark ‘diamond nine’ formation.
