What to expect from the “20/20” Season 48 premiere
In the premiere, Roberts uncovers the disturbing truth behind a case that stunned a Colorado community: Kristil Krug, a biochemical engineer and mother of three, began receiving threatening messages from someone she believed was an ex-boyfriend. As police investigated, surveillance footage and body cam videos captured Kristil and her husband Dan’s emotional efforts to protect their family. But the investigation took a devastating turn when Kristil was found dead in her garage.
The trail would ultimately point back to someone no one suspected: her husband, Daniel Krug, who authorities say orchestrated an elaborate scheme to impersonate her ex and stage the stalking.
The episode features exclusive interviews with Kristil’s parents, investigators, prosecutors and the ex-boyfriend she believed was behind the harassment.
