Hawaii’s Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT) is calling on the state’s small businesses to share their financing experiences by contributing to the Federal Reserve’s 2025 Small Business Credit Survey (SBCS), which is available until November 14. Geared towards understanding the financing needs and hurdles of small enterprises, the survey’s data is pivotal for crafting policies aimed at bettering access to capital and business resources.
The survey, which should take participants roughly 12 minutes, is not just open to existing businesses but also extends an invite to those that have recently closed or are gearing up to start. Importantly, responses are kept confidential, absolving participants of the need to furnish any personal information. This detail echoes Hawaii’s intent to provide candid insights without placing privacy at risk, a commitment stated by Dennis Ling, administrator of DBEDT’s Business Development and Support Division. “We strongly encourage Hawaii’s small business leaders to participate in this vital survey,” Ling state, as reported by the DBEDT. “Your insights play a critical role in guiding federal agencies and service providers. By sharing your experiences, you help shape policies and decisions that expand access to financing and create stronger opportunities for businesses throughout Hawaii.”
Last year, feedback from Hawaiian small businesses significantly influenced the national understanding of lending patterns, particularly how they have shifted after natural disasters. Business owners who wish to share their input can access the survey through the link provided by the DBEDT.
