Airline requests ground stop due to connectivity issue

United Airlines flights departing the United States and Canada were suspended Tuesday night after a ground stop issued by the Federal Aviation Administration.
United told CBS News that they “experienced a brief connectivity issue just before midnight Central time on Tuesday, but has since resumed normal operations.”
The airline requested the FAA issue the ground stop from 1 a.m. to 2:30 a.m., but it was ultimately shortened to 1:30 a.m.
The issue has since been resolved, according to the Travel.
The ground stop marks the second time in two months that the airline has made such a request to the FAA.
In early August, United flights in cities across the country including Newark, Houston, Chicago and Denver were subjected to a ground stop that lasted nearly four hours.
