Trump’s war on media: Jimmy Kimmel suspended over Kirk remarks

Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show has been indefinitely suspended by ABC after the host’s monologue about the murder of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! was pulled off the air after major backlash from affiliates and pressure from President Donald Trump’s appointed FCC Chairman Brendan Carr.

In the monologue, Kimmel accused Trump’s allies and the ‘Maga gang’ of trying to ‘capitalise on the murder’ of Kirk in order to ‘score political points.’

Trump praised the suspension on social media, saying ABC showed ‘courage’ while also calling out two other late-night hosts – Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers – and suggested NBC should cancel their shows as well.

Jimmy Kimmel has not commented since his show was taken off air.
