Netflix’s House of Guinness star Louis Partridge is barely recognisable in throwback photos from his lesser-known 2017 role. The 22-year-old actor, who features alongside Anthony Boyle and James Norton in the new Netflix drama exploring the history of the famous brewery, looks strikingly different in these resurfaced images. The eight-part series , now available for streaming, follows the children of Benjamin Lee Guinness; Edward (portrayed by Partridge), Arthur (Boyle), Ben (Fionn O’Shea) and Anne Plunket (Emily Fairn), as they inherit the business after their father’s death. The historical drama comes from the pen of Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, who also holds an executive producer role. Like Knight’s previous creations, House of Guinness has been well-received, earning a commendable 86% score from Rotten Tomatoes critics, reports the Irish Mirror . Much of the acclaim has been directed at its exceptional cast, who are seen sporting period-appropriate 19th century clothing throughout the series. This might make it difficult for Netflix viewers to identify London-born actor Partridge in the unearthed photos from 2017. In a recent Instagram post shared by Studio Canal UK, the young actor is seen donning a multi-coloured hoodie, neon orange headphones and vibrant goggles. This image hails from his role in Paddington 2, where he played G-Man, the leader of a popular group at Jonathan Brown’s school. The family film debuted just three years before Partridge gained widespread recognition for his role in Netflix’s adventure thriller Enola Holmes. The 2020 film follows the story of Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister, Enola, portrayed by Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, as she sets off on a quest to find their missing mother. Partridge plays Tewksbury, who becomes Enola’s love interest during her journey. Both young actors returned to their roles in the sequel, Enola Holmes 2, which was released in 2022. In addition, Partridge has appeared in Apple TV’s psychological thriller Disclaimer, alongside Cate Blanchett. His big screen appearances also include Matthew Vaughn’s 2024 spy-thriller Argylle. He has also been in the news for his relationship with American pop star Olivia Rodrigo, who wrote a love song titled ‘So American’, seemingly dedicated to Partridge.
