The New Orleans Saints (0-3) will try to get their first win of the season when they travel to Buffalo to play the Bills (3-0). The Saints are on a seven-game losing skid dating to last season. Can they get Kellen Moore his first win? Here are our staff predictions.
Jeff Duncan (Season record: 1-2)
Bills 33, Saints 16: Sandwiched between a pair of contests against divisional rivals, Miami and New England, for the Bills, this game will likely come down to Buffalo’s motivation. The Bills are more talented on both sides of the ball and are almost impossible to beat at home, but the Saints might catch them looking ahead and keep it close for a while.
Zach Ewing (Season record: 2-1)
Bills 31, Saints 17: While I believe last week was rock bottom for the Saints, they could play significantly better in Buffalo and still lose by two touchdowns. The Bills are that good. However, they’re apparently resting injured defensive starters Ed Oliver and Matt Milano, so they’re not particularly interested in a blowout. This one might be closer than most think, at least for a while.
Luke Johnson (Season record: 2-1)
Bills 31, Saints 20: Even the most optimistic Saints fans might find a hard time feeling confident about this one. While I don’t think the Saints are going to win the game, I do think they’ll be on the right side of the huge betting line that favors the Bills by more than two touchdowns.
Matthew Paras (Season record: 2-1)
Bills 34, Saints 16: The Bills have scored at least 30 points in three straight games, and they reached that mark in 12 regular-season games last year. The Saints haven’t ever scored 30 points with Spencer Rattler at quarterback. Chances are, New Orleans won’t be able to keep pace with a high-powered Bills offense.
Rod Walker (Season record: 2-1)
Bills 37, Saints 17: See Josh run, See Josh throw, Saints will have a hard time slowing down Buffalo. The Saints were 16½-point underdogs to start the week. That’s a big point spread in the NFL. But these Bills are really explosive. They are well rested since they haven’t played in 10 games, and they will be laser-focused after a so-so performance in their last outing against the Dolphins.
