Jennifer Wrynne's marriage to her childhood sweetheart and what makes the relationship work

Jennifer Wrynne has revealed she first fell for her now husband Colm when the pair were just 14.

The couple married in a fairytale ceremony in Lough Rynn in 2024, and share four gorgeous children, Alex (5), twins Isabella and Amber (3), and five-month-old Amelia Rose.

And the fashion influencer admits it was always Colm for her, with the couple knowing each other since they were children.

“We’ve known each other all our life really,” Jennifer told RSVP Magazine. “We only lived a mile up the road from each other and our parents have been friends all our lives and our grandparents too.

“We were together when we were 14 or 15 and then we got back together when we were 21, and have been together since. We got married last year in 2024.”

From teenage sweethearts to parents of four, they’ve grown together through every stage of life and Jennifer admits their love has transformed over the years as their relationship evolved.

“It’s funny to see all those life changes. In our 20s, it was very fun. It’s light-hearted. You can’t get enough of each other. We were always socialising and then life changed totally when we had Alex. But children have brought us even closer. Being in the trenches with young kids, and now with my health in the last few weeks, it’s really shown me how we do get through things together.”

Jennifer was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and credits Colm’s easy charm with keeping their bond strong through the dark days. “It’s definitely Colm’s sense of humour [that makes their relationship go the distance]. He brightens up the dull days. As my mum says, he never lets the truth get in the way of a good story. He is very fun and he’ll always put a smile on my face no matter what. That trait gets us through the tough times.”

Their family grew faster than they expected, but Jennifer admits their chaotic home is a dream come true for them both. “Before I had children, I thought I would have loved two, maybe three. And then after I had Alex, I was like, ‘oh, I want another little baby’”, she admits.

“I got straight into it. That little baby ended up being twins, but still we didn’t feel quite complete, so after we got married we had Amelia which has been perfect.”

Life with twins brought a new kind of energy to their home and Jennifer laughs that their home is anything but peaceful.

“It was a bit crazy. But we love it. Colm is an only child and his dad passed away when he was seven, so he’s lived with just his mom all his life. His house is lovely and quiet and so organised. And living in our house is, well it’s just chaos, it’s mental, there are kids everywhere, everything is loud, everything is busy.

“I actually didn’t find the twins as hard an adjustment as your first child actually. The twins weren’t as full on until they were able to get up on their feet, and then we were like, ‘OK yes, this is crazy’, they were everywhere, and absolutely mad. But now that they’ve turned three we’re turning another corner and it’s all becoming a bit more manageable again.”

And while her social media feed may look glamorous, Jennifer laughs at the idea that she is always camera-ready. “I definitely don’t look like that all the time! Many of the snippets I post are squeezed into a short window when I’m going to an event. And I also have a lot of help. My mom is very much on hand to help, Colm’s mom is also great. And we have the kids in creche.”

Privacy is important, especially when it comes to her children. “With the kids, yes. I avoid sharing them too much. It’s really just the odd snippet, if we’re out at something. I don’t share any details of their life, or much of my own really. I stick to fashion, beauty and a little bit of lifestyle. For me, my page is a fun place rather than anything else, I’m just sharing what I love and I try to keep it at that.”
