Minister for Small Scale Industries and Public Enterprises Sharanabasappa Darshanapur has instructed the officers of the departments concerned to conduct a proper survey on crop loss owing to copious rainfall in Yadgir district.

Standing crops, more particularly green gram, red gram and cotton, in several hundred acres, have suffered extensive damage. The officers of the departments concerned should conduct a proper survey to assess crop loss and ensure compensation to farmers.
Mr. Darshanapur said that the Agriculture Department should stock fertilisers and chemicals to supply them to farmers on demand. “Crop insurance should reach farmers without fail,” he added.
The most anticipated Jal Jeevan Mission project should be implemented properly and places should be identified to construct overhead tanks under the Jaladhare scheme, Mr. Darshanapur said.
Referring to the raid on rice mills and the seizure of rice stored there illegally, the Minister said that the officers of Food and Civil Supplies Department should keep close vigil on the movement of rice and ensure that rice meant for beneficiaries under government schemes reach them effectively.
He also reviewed other development works being taken up under different departments.
