Like House of Guinness? Watch these 7 Netflix shows next

It’s not unusual for Netflix to release a new show, but few come with as much hype and attention as House of Guinness. Created by Steven Knight, a prolific writer and director who also created Peaky Blinders, the series follows four children as they come together to inherit the Guinness business in the wake of their father’s death in 1868.
If you watched House of Guinness and are looking for other shows like it, we’ve got you covered. Here are seven shows on Netflix you can start with that are in the same mold.
Peaky Blinders (2013-2022)
Because the two shows share a creator, Peaky Blinders was a pretty obvious inclusion on this list. The show, which is set in the aftermath of World War I, tells the story of a crime family in Britain run by a war hero as they contend with threats both internal and external.

Cillian Murphy was Peaky Blinders’ heart, but its great ensemble ultimately helped the show last six seasons. The combination of a period setting and riveting, ongoing drama made Peaky Blinders a sizable hit for Netflix, and one that has endured in the years since the show ended.

The Fall of the House of Usher (2023)
Adapted from an Edgar Allan Poe story of the same name, The Fall of the House of Usher is the show that has the most in common with House of Guinness. Set in the modern day, the show follows an insanely wealthy family who find themselves picked off one by one.
As we learn more about how the group attained their massive fortune and the compromises they made along the way, we understand why these siblings keep getting picked off. Plus, we see the unique ways that each of them is terrible.

The Crown (2016-2023)
Another show about wealthy people grappling with their inheritance, The Crown follows the reign of Queen Elizabeth II from her coronation all the way through the early 2000s. Along the way, we come to understand the unique burdens and privileges of being a member of the royal family and all the ways it has ruined the lives of the ostensibly lucky people doing these jobs.
The Crown features some incredible performances, and because the show’s cast changed out every two years, it also features some fascinating comparisons between different actors playing the same character.

Bloodline (2015-2017)
One of Netflix’s early original series, Bloodline tells the story of a family as the secrets they tried to keep hidden start to come to the surface after the return of one member of the family.
Starring Kyle Chandler and an utterly transfixing Ben Mendehlson, the show is ultimately a psychological thriller, but one rooted in the ways that our pasts come back to haunt us in the present. Although it lasted just three seasons, Bloodline was captivating for a reason.

House of Cards (2013-2018)
One of the first major Netflix original series, House of Cardscan be a tricky show to watch now because of the allegations against its star, Kevin Spacey. If you’re looking for a show filled with intrigue, there are few better.
The series follows a Washington politician who will do whatever it takes to amass as much power as possible. The show is ultimately about the ways in which he takes that power, which outweighs its political views. That’s part of what makes it so fascinating.

Black Rabbit (2025)
A recent limited series from Netflix, Black Rabbit, focuses on two siblings, one of whom utterly changes the other’s life. Starring Jude Law and Jason Bateman, the series is about a successful restaurateur who is thrust into New York’s criminal underworld after his deadbeat brother shows up in town.
The show — which asks if family or wealth is more important — is anchored by two brilliant central performances from Bateman and Law, who are surprisingly convincing as a pair of siblings.

The Gentlemen (2024)
A deeply funny, sometimes outrageously violent series, The Gentlemen tells the story of an aristocrat who comes into his wealth, only to discover that he is actually the heir to a massive weed empire. Suddenly finding himself working in the criminal underworld, he must come to grips with his inheritance and learn exactly how this world operates.
Based on a movie of the same name, The Gentlemen is silly, wonderful fun, and ultimately much lighter fare than the House of Guinness, but it shares some of the same trappings of class and wealth.
