Ayrshire Cancer Support invites residents and businesses to 'Chat for Charity'

Ayrshire Cancer Support is launching a community-driven fundraising initiative next month. ‘Chat for Charity’ is set to take place across Ayrshire on Friday, October 24 and all residents are invited to make a difference to their communities by having ‘A Warm Cup with a Cause’. Throughout the day, participating cafes, restaurants and hotels across the region are coming together for a powerful purpose: supporting the vital work of Ayrshire Cancer Support, a local charity that has been helping families affected by cancer for over 40 years. Venues will donate a percentage of their hot drinks sales to the charity, so every sip of tea, coffee or hot chocolate will help fund essential cancer support services in Ayrshire, ensuing those affected by cancer receive the practical and emotional assistance they need. “This is a simple way for people to support their local cancer charity,” said Karen McIntyre, CEO at Ayrshire Cancer Support. “Whether you’re catching up with a friend, having a work meeting, or just treating yourself, every cup of coffee enjoyed at a participating venue will help fund our eight essential services. “This is more than just a fundraiser – it’s a chance for businesses and individuals to show they care, while enjoying a warm cuppa.” Businesses interested in participating can sign up by emailing fundraising@ayrshirecs.org and will be provided with all the necessary marketing materials to help promote the event and showcase your business as a participating venue. The public is encouraged to visit local venues involved in the initiative and share a conversation over a hot drink –knowing that every sip is helping someone in Ayrshire affected by cancer.
