Compensation for businesses affected by flooding in Tuscany 2025

If your business was affected by the flooding in Tuscany in March, you can now apply for compensation.

The call for applications to support businesses affected by the flooding in March 2025 in the Metropolitan City of Florence and the provinces of Livorno, Lucca, Pisa, Pistoia and Prato opens on September 25 via Sviluppo Toscana. For businesses that took part in the damage assessment phase, which ended on August 27, 2.4 million euro is available: 1.97 million euro from the Tuscan Region, plus 400,000 euro from the Florence Chamber of Commerce.

A maximum of 10,000 euro compensation can be granted based on the difference between the turnover of the affected quarter in 2025 and the median turnover of the same period over the previous three years, subject to a minimum loss of 30 per cent. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted. This measure differs from other regional initiatives launched for the November 2023 flooding, which were aimed at supporting new investments or reducing interest rates on bank loans to support liquidity. The liquidity support scheme remains open (with contributions of up to 7,000 euro), while the investment support scheme has had two editions: the first, in 2024, offered €5,000 contributions covering up to 100% of investments; the second, approved in 2025, provided contributions of up to €20,000 covering 80% of total investments. This second edition closed on September 15 with 119 applications submitted. The ranking list is currently being approved.
