Margate's Fall Funfest by the Bay is this weekend

MARGATE — The city’s 24th annual Fall Funfest by the Bay will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday along Amherst Avenue.
The free event will feature more than 110 booths of handmade arts and crafts, amusements, food, local retailers, commercial sponsors, nonprofits and municipal departments, as well as a kids’ stage, 11 bands on the main stage, Scott’s Dock Wetlands Wonderland, parades featuring Miss New Jersey Belle Nicholas, costumed characters, a beer garden and an ax throwing trailer.
Food vendors will include Tacocat, South Jersey Smoke House, Tommy T’s, Tin Cup Soda Company, Sherri’s Crab Cakes of NJ, California Frozen Yogurt and Shakes, and Vagabond Kitchen + Tap House.
Performers on the main stage at Jefferson Avenue will include Teddi Fusco, Artese N Toad, Dan Barry, Poor Mouth Henry, the Chris Yoder Band and the Ashcats on Saturday, and Cole Moore, Sunrise Cries, No Clue Band, the Shore Thing Band and Big Daddy Duo on Sunday.
Entertainment on the kids’ stage will include a Street Sorcery Show and Wild Thrill Stunt Extravaganza featuring knife juggling, object balancing and fire eating, as well as the Emerald Isle Academy of Irish Dance, pianist Victoria Dolceamore, Blake’s Gymnastics and Leslie’s Dance Studio.

Saturday night will be Funfest After Dark: Definitely Not for Kids, featuring Dead Reckoning playing the music of the Grateful Dead, followed by contortionist balloon act Tuna Turner from The Hook at Caesars Atlantic City. Guests can dress in their pajamas for a chance to win the Teddy Bear Trophy. Tickets for Funfest After Dark are available at margatehasmore.com. Attendees must be 21 or older.
At 1 p.m. Sunday, Steve & Cookie’s by the Bay Restaurant will host the Dan Gottlieb Memorial Dog Show. Register at eventbrite.com or in person from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for $25. Proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Ocean City and NJ Aid for Animals.
Also on Sunday, Scott’s Dock will host eco tours at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Purchase tickets through Scott’s Dock at 609-822-6819.
Free jitney shuttle service will be available along Ventnor and Amherst avenues and from the parking lot at the Eugene Tighe School at 7804 Amherst Ave.
