Amanda Holden and Alan Carr's Spanish townhouse from BBC show is now available to stay in

The beautiful Spanish townhouse which was brought back to life by Amanda Holden and Alan Carr is now available to stay in. The TV duo transformed the derelict property in Moclín, Granada in Spain during their BBC One show Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job. Similar programmes have seen the pair purchase homes for as little as €1 in Sicily and Tuscany and lovingly restore them. Prior to its restoration, the family townhouse and local shop in Moclín had been empty for 35 years before falling into a state of disrepair due to the depopulation in rural Andalucian villages. In March 2025, after the final episode of the BBC show aired, Amanda and Alan’s home named ‘Casa Alamanda’ went on the market for €245,000. Casa Alamanda Moclín is now accepting bookings for stays of up to six guests from September 2025. The self-catered, exclusive-use rental property is ‘exactly as it was seen on screen,’ retaining some of the building’s original features as well as beautiful interiors inspired by the original design of the property and stylistic touches from Amanda and Alan themselves. Inside, the rental home has three distinctively-themed double bedrooms, including the famous ‘Moroccan Bedroom’ with an ornate hand-crafted ceiling, a beautifully framed King-sized bed and French windows opening onto Juliet balconies overlooking the village square. There are also two bathrooms, a rustic dining and reception room, a kitchen and breakfast room and London club-style games and bar room. Outside, guests can enjoy a private front and rear patio with stairs up to a roof terrace overlooking the bustle of the village. Rates for staying at Casa Alamanda Moclín start from €195 nightly or €1,365 weekly in low season and from €225 nightly or €1,575 weekly in high season. Owners Nicola and Mickey have pledged to contribute 15 percent of all rental income to the local women’s association, which featured in episode four as Amanda made traditional pastries with her neighbours. The property is set in Moclín, a beautiful thirteenth-century village in the northwest hills of Granada Province, famous for its stunning views over the Sierra Nevada mountains and a Moorish castle built by the Nasrid rulers. Today, the village is a perfect example of the authentic Andalucían lifestyle. Despite only being home to some 3,500 inhabitants, the seven villages that make up the Moclín municipality host over a dozen highly attended fiestas throughout the year, making the region ideal for experiencing authentic rural Spanish culture. Ian and Andrew, founders of Granada Village & Country, who have seen the property through every stage, say that one year on from the conclusion of filming Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job, they have witnessed a notable boost to the village. “When we were approached by the show’s producers, we immediately recognised an opportunity to breathe new life into Moclín,” said Ian. “It was months of hard work with many obstacles to navigate, but the impact it’s had on the village is more than worth it. Post-airing in January 2025, sightseers were visiting the village daily to take photographs outside the ‘as seen on the BBC’ property, and we know local businesses have experienced an uplift, including our own. “One year on from filming, pride and optimism has returned to the village, and now that Casa Alamanda Moclín is available for holidaymakers to stay it’s a wonderful full-circle moment for the villagers who’ve seen it through the full transformation. Visitors will be given a very warm welcome to this beautiful rural village.” To find out more about Casa Alamanda Moclín or to book a stay, visit https://www.casaalamandamoclin.com/ .
