Oak Grove volleyball to hold Play 4 Kay event on Sept. 27

Oak Grove will hold a Play 4 Kay tri-match on Saturday, Sept. 27 to help raise funds and awareness for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
In addition to Oak Grove, Ledford and West Davidson will also take part in the matches. There will also be a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, and a breast cancer survivor parade during the event.
Matches are scheduled for 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m.
Yow was the longtime women’s basketball coach at N.C. State from 1979 to 2009 who had more than 700 career wins. She was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 and became active in raising money to fight the disease. The cancer recurred in 2004 and Yow continued to coach until her death in 2009.
