While Bose has unleashed its new 2nd Gen QuietComfort Ultra Bluetooth Earbuds at $299, we just spotted a sweet discount on the now previous-generation set. Still one of the best in the game if you ask me, directly on the Bose site, via its world-class refurbishment program, you’ll find the first-gen QuietComfort Ultra Bluetooth Earbuds marked down to $169 shipped – that’s $130 off the original price and what they are still fetching on Amazon brand new.
While Bose has made some notable upgrades to the new second-generation set, if you ask me anyone who doesn’t want to drop the $299 to pre-order a set of those will be just fine with the first-gen – they are still a wonderful set of wireless in-ears with some of the best noise-cancellation I have used.

As you’ll know from our hands-on review of the Bose QuietComfort Ultra 2nd Gen they are certainly an enhanced version of the previous-gen, complete with upgraded ANC and an updated AI algorithm that is now “layered on top of this technology” that improves the “ActiveSense experience when in Aware Mode” alongside a “more refined” noise cancellation experience.
That said, Bose has been vocal about how they retain the hallmarks of the QuietComfort lineup, just going to show how great the original set was, and still is. Whether or not this set is worth it for $169 over the brand new AirPods Pro 3 at $249 is up to you, but they definitely went toe-to-toe with AirPods Pro 2 in my experience.
