Stroke awareness, digital security focus of MyMichigan Health’s Saginaw wellness series

SAGINAW, MI — MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw will host a three-session educational series this October aimed at enhancing community wellness and knowledge through expert-led discussions on digital security, stroke awareness and healthy aging.
The Wellness Wednesday Lunch and Learn Series begins Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Health Education Center Lobby and Lecture Hall on the medical center campus at 800 S. Washington in Saginaw, organizers said. Sessions run from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m., with doors opening at 11 a.m.
The series opens with “Navigating the Digital World,” featuring Scott D. Klein, resident agent in charge at the U.S. Secret Service Saginaw Resident Office. Klein will discuss online security and the top financial and cyber-enabled crimes affecting Michigan, teaching attendees how to identify and respond to scams. The session includes refresher training on counterfeit currency and digital assets.
The second session, “Brain Power – Stroke Awareness,” takes place Wednesday, Oct. 22. Dr. Faith Fuentes, a neurologist and stroke program medical director at MyMichigan Health, will lead the presentation alongside Gordon Siu, stroke program coordinator, and Tracy Bruff, stroke nurse navigator. Participants will learn to recognize stroke symptoms, understand risk factors and know the necessary emergency response steps, organizers said.
The series concludes Wednesday, Oct. 29, with “Embracing the Gray: Healthy Aging and What You Need to Know.” Dr. Saad Chaudhry, geriatrician and assistant professor in internal medicine, will guide discussions on normal aging changes versus signs of abnormal aging, helping participants maintain health and independence.
Participants can attend individual sessions for $10 each or purchase all three sessions for $25.
