Woman shares how she lost 100 lbs, kept it off for five years

(InvestigateTV) — Losing weight and keeping the pounds off permanently is no easy feat. According to research, only 20 percent of people who lose weight maintain that weight years later. One woman shares her tips after losing 100 lbs.
Leah Lewis says she tried all sorts of diets. She would lose some weight, but she always gained it back until 2020, when her lifestyle changed.
These are the habits she formed:
Meal prep food every Sunday
Write down workouts for the week
Download a food and exercise app to track progress
Workout with a trainer or friend who holds you accountable
She says changing her lifestyle habits has made a huge difference.
“I had been overweight since I was a kid, probably about eight or nine years old,” Lewis said.
She tried several diets, but nothing worked.
“I was just tired of not feeling good,” Lewis said.
But she also faced another dilemma
“I was literally just intimidated,” Lewis said. “I would go to the gym and have no idea. There would be all these machines, and I didn’t know what to do.”
But at the age of 39, she was determined to change.
She started working with trainer Daniel Coll from Renew Your Strength Nutrition and Fitness.
“We trained outside like four days a week, went to the Swamp Rabbit Trail, rode bikes with 35–40-pound weight vests,” Lewis said.
At the beginning, she wanted to quit.
“I couldn’t even get through a workout,” Lewis said. “I was totally out of breath, lightheaded and dizzy.”
But after a year of persistence, those steps paid off.
