Jackson Metro Student of the Week Sept. 21-27 winner announced

Each week the Clarion Ledger highlights the achievements of outstanding local high school students. Out of four nominees, there can only be one Jackson Metro Student of the Week.
The votes are in.
With nearly 59% of the votes, Natalie Roberson of Jackson Academy is the Clarion Ledger’s Jackson Metro Student of the Week for Sept. 21-27.
Roberson is a senior at Jackson Academy who has excelled in academics, athletics, service and leadership. On Sept. 18, the National Merit Corporation announced that she has been named a Commended Student in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. With top standardized test scores and a strong GPA in Advanced Placement and honors courses, Roberson is among approximately 34,000 students nationwide commended for their exceptional academic promise.
Actively involved in extracurricular activities, Robinson is a member of the Accents dance team, soccer team, the Honor Council and Student Ambassadors, among others. She was recently part of the award-winning Accent team, which was named State Champions in both Kick — Large Division and Pom — Large Division after winning at the MAIS Spirit Competition this month at the Mississippi Coliseum.
The Cum Laude Society, the National Honor Society, and the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) have inducted Roberson into their honoraries. She has served as president of the NJHS and treasurer of Mu Alpha Theta, a mathematics honor society. An AP Scholar with Distinction, Roberson is also a member of several national honor societies in subject areas including science, English, Spanish and social studies.
Additionally, Roberson volunteers extensively through her church and community organizations.

You can vote to decide the next Jackson Metro Student of the Week. Polls open Monday mornings and close Thursdays at noon. Winners are announced on Friday.
