‘Burnt With Coal, Bones Found’: US Woman Killed In Punjab On Groom’s Orders-Chilling Details Reveal

In the tragic death case of a US woman, who was burnt to death in Punjab’s Ludhiana, new details have emerged. 71-year-old Rupinder Kaur Pandher came to India to marry 75-year-old Charanjit Singh Grewal, who is a US-based NRI. The woman came to India at the invitation of Grewal. In a press conference on Thursday (September 18), Ludhiana DCP Rupinder Singh detailed new revelations in the case. He said that one accused has been arrested in the murder case, while another accused, who is living abroad, is still at large. The US woman wanted to marry Grewal and asked him for marriage. She also deposited some money in his bank account. However, after some time, a rift arose between them and turned serious. Grewal hired a man, in whose house the woman lived, and asked him to kill the woman. He even lured him with the promise of giving him Rs 50 lakh after going abroad. Following this, the accused killed the woman in Punjab’s Ludhiana when she came to get married to Grewal. The accused burnt her alive with coal in the house. He even made an attempt to destroy the evidence. However, the police have arrested the accused, who confessed to the murder during interrogation, and also recovered the bones of the girl. “They said that the other partner of this accused, who is abroad, is still absconding,” the DCP added. Probable motive behind the murder According to the police, Charanjit had her killed because of financial reasons. The officers stated that Pandher had transferred a substantial amount of money to him just before she visited Ludhiana.
