Dwyane Wade Has 3 Words For Dirk Nowitzki’s “Desk Job” As Kyle Lowry Joins Them

Great Odin’s raven! Amazon Prime’s two new analysts are serving looks. Just very different kinds. Dwyane Wade has dabbled in the NBA media space through TNT before and was on NBC’s Olympic coverage team. Now he’s making his analyst comeback on a streaming service alongside his biggest rival – Dirk Nowitzki. We anticipate that some of that Mavericks-Heat rivalry from the NBA finals on air. But it’s going to be a lot more about Nowitzki’s broadcasting debut. This is different from his few interviews here and there. And Dallas is celebrating his new chapter quite stylishly.
Dallas’ representative publication, D Magazine took nostalgia, pop culture, and going back to the year the Mavs turned it around and the big screen was blessed with peak comedy. While Dirk Nowitzki was on the verge of his prime in 2004, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy premiered that year. Since Nowitzki is about to step into Ron Burgundy’s shoes, only fitting he tries the whole aesthetic.
D Magazine recreated the iconic Ron Burgundy poster with Nowitzki, complete in that unforgettable burgundy jacket and pantless under the desk. He even got a mustache to match but thankfully, he stayed away from Will Farell’s luscious hairdo.

Dwyane Wade was among those who was blown away by Dirk’s never-before-seen avatar. He commented, “This is good!” under it which is an understatement really.
D Magazine also said, “For our October cover story, Dirk Nowitzki was a true sport about our design concept, which would transform him from the Dallas basketball legend we know and love into Ron Burgundy, a nod to his new broadcasting gig on Amazon. An oversized, ’70s-style suit by @lombardocustom, striped tube socks, and a jazz flute were all deployed, but what made the whole shoot shine was Dirk’s performance—he got it completely.”
The cover and Nowitzki’s rare persona shocked the Internet. The fan reaction even prompted D Magazine to issue a clarification. And Dirk’s new look probably overshadowed a piece of update Amazon just dropped.

Dirk Nowitzki and Dwyane Wade have a new colleague
To quote the world’s most famous anchorman, “that was the biggest explosion I’ve ever seen in my life.” A virtual explosion it was when fans saw this image. Most were sure Dirk Nowitzki never posed for this cover and it was AI-generated.
“It is very real and the art/photography was done by humans,” D Magazine editor Mike Piellucci wrote on X. The human credited behind this image is Elizabeth Lavin, a Dallas-based photographer.

D-Wade has not done a special shoot for his broadcasting return. But he did reveal what’s in store for the Prime debut. The Miami legend revealed on his podcast, he’s going to join Candace Parker for the Lakers opening game while Udonis Haslem and Dirk are going to do their thing in the studio, also in LA. Nowitzki’s going to commute between Dallas and Los Angeles at least once a week for Prime.
That’s about all the details Wade had. He probably didn’t know much because Amazon had to finalize at least one last signing which they did while the latest episode of Wade’s Timeout podcast dropped. After weeks of rumors, it’s apparently confirmed that Kyle Lowry is joining the Prime NBA team. But he’s not retiring. Lowry is about to enter his 20th NBA season with dual responsibilities with the 76ers and at Amazon.
