Want to explore Monet’s waterlilies so closely that you can almost dip your hand into the pool? Or gaze up in wonder as Van Gogh’s Starry Night fills thousands of square feet around you? Art lovers will be spoiled for festive fare as a pair of new exhibitions opens in the city next month. Beyond Monet and Beyond Van Gogh will be taking place at the Royal Highland Centre from Saturday, 29 November, until Friday, 2 January – and this will be the first time the experience celebrating the enchanting works of Monet has been held in Scotland, and the first time this Van Gogh experience will be held in Edinburgh. Find tickets for both events now at www.beyondvangogh.co.uk/edinburgh Prepare to be mesmerised by Monet Beyond Monet: The Immersive Experience uses the latest tech to celebrate the groundbreaking work of France’s nature-loving innovator. Inspired by Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris, the permanent home for much of Monet’s works, the show is set in a huge room at The Royal Highland Centre which offers the perfect canvas for visitors to step inside the paintings. Whether you want to learn more about his pioneering style or to get a fresh take on the depth of the Father of Impressionism’s much-loved masterpieces, you’ll be mesmerised by a show that brings together more than 400 of the legendary French painter’s pieces, blending images with a unique soundtrack to transport you to his delicately drawn world. Expect famous works like Poppies, Impression: Sunrise and his Water Lilies series but also many of his lesser-known creations, all showcasing his signature use of light and colour. Meet the man behind those iconic Sunflowers Think you know the work of Vincent Van Gogh? Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience will make you think again, uniting more than 300 of the post-Impressionist icon’s paintings in a riot of colour and shapes that lends new angles to some of the most famous and familiar paintings in the world. Again, the show fuses cutting-edge technology with a specially curated score to stir your heartstrings as you journey through the moving story of one of history’s most influential artists. It’s a unique chance to see iconic works like Sunflowers and Terrace of a Café at Night in a completely new and inspiring light. Why Edinburgh’s art lovers are in for a treat These immersive art shows have breathed new life into the works of two incredible artists, allowing you to absorb their art in a riotous sensory assault as colour and sound cascade around you. They’re produced by Annerin Productions and Paquin Entertainment Group, and Anna Parry, UK Business Development at Annerin Productions, says Scottish audiences are truly in for a treat this winter. It’s the first time the entertainment company has staged anything in Edinburgh; Beyond Van Gogh enjoyed a critically acclaimed run at Glasgow’s SEC in 2024 where it was seen by 50,000 visitors before moving to the P&J Live in Aberdeen. “Edinburgh was at the heart of the Scottish Enlightenment and art has always played a hugely important role in its cultural landscape, so I’m excited to be able to present a very special Scottish premiere – Beyond Monet: The Immersive Experience – in the city,” she says. “Beyond Monet is a stunning show packed with many of his most important and most powerful artworks, immersing art lovers in his revolutionary impressionist world and accompanied by a wonderfully evocative soundtrack. “With both experiences running throughout December and into the New Year, they’re an ideal festive gift for the art lover in your life, as well as being a great day out for families looking to do something together in the run-up to and over the Christmas holidays.” How to buy your tickets today You can see Beyond Monet and Beyond Van Gogh between Saturday, 29 November 2025, and Friday, 2 January 2026 (both will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). The immersive spectaculars will be staged on different days throughout the five-week run at the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston, Newbridge.
